Privacy Policy

The Short Version
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this blog. That's it. We don't sell your data, we don't serve ads, and we don't collect personal information beyond what Google Analytics automatically tracks (pages you visit, how long you stay, where you came from).
You can block Google Analytics with any ad blocker or privacy extension. The blog works exactly the same either way.
What We Collect
Analytics Data (via Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our blog. This helps us know which content is helpful and where we should focus our efforts.
What Google Analytics collects:
- Pages you visit on this blog
- How long you spend on each page
- How you found us (Google, Twitter, direct link, etc.)
- Your general location (country/city level)
- Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
- Browser and operating system
What We Don't Collect
- Your name or email address (we don't have a newsletter... yet)
- Your exact IP address (Google anonymizes this)
- Any personal information
- Passwords or login credentials (there's no login)
How We Use This Data
Analytics data helps us answer questions like:
- Which blog posts are most helpful?
- Are people finding the guides section?
- Is the blog loading fast enough on mobile?
- Where is our audience located?
We do NOT:
- Sell your data to anyone
- Use your data for advertising
- Share your data with third parties (except Google Analytics itself)
- Track you across other websites
Cookies
This blog uses two types of cookies:
1. Theme Preference (Essential)
When you toggle between light and dark mode, we save your preference in local storage so the site remembers your choice. This stays on your device and never leaves your browser.
2. Google Analytics Cookies (Analytics)
Google Analytics uses cookies to track your visit. These cookies help us understand if you're a returning visitor and how you navigate the blog.
Cookie names: _ga, _ga_*, _gid
Your Privacy Rights
Block Analytics
You can block Google Analytics in several ways:
- Install an ad blocker (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, etc.)
- Use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- Use your browser's "Do Not Track" setting
- Browse in private/incognito mode
The blog works exactly the same with analytics blocked. You won't miss anything.
Delete Your Data
Since we don't collect personal information or require accounts, there's no personal data to delete. Google Analytics data is anonymous and aggregated.
If you want to clear cookies, use your browser's settings to delete cookies for this site.
